Jen Larkin
Jen Larkin is an artist of linear depiction, of
layering color technique and rhythm, inspired by
embracing street culture. When you unveil the
composition in what signatures technique and style
in Jen Larkin's works, you see her inspiration of street
culture at it's best defined spectrum.
Hip hop music, break dancing, graffiti, and
skateboarding are just a few of the focus elements
inspiring her cultural creations. There is a layering
technique in these street cultures that is comprised
of other subcultures. These subcultures are
translated as apparent movement and rhythm in her
work when the layering of colors are applied. Larkin's
work captivates that very pulse of urban vibes like
her work is the pulse of the city breathing! Jen uses
many mediums though she is fond of recycled
skateboard decks that she describes as being "the
added motion of rhythm".
Like the reprise of New York youth street culture,
Larkin takes you back to that moment in time. From
her eye to her medium. Her work takes a snap shot
that evokes a feeling from where the street cultures
were born, the inner city. Larkin captures the
embracing moment of excitement in her works.
Larkin has had the opportunity as a young artist
to be commissioned by major corporations to do
large murals of her work. With much to do from
magazines and has received countless editorial on
her work. Jen Larkin is a young fledgling modern
artist, an artist to follow closely as she sets the stage
to reign as a modern art figure.

Jen Larkin was born in Long Island in 1972, and
studied at The Fashion Institute of Technology, in
NYC, as well as abroad in Florence, Italy. She
currently resides and works in her Manhattan studio.
